The first Friday of March marks Employee Appreciation Day. Originally termed by the founding member of Recognition Professionals International, Dr Bob Nelson, in 1995, the annual celebration intends to thank workplace colleagues and recognise everything they contribute to the business.

Enterprising spirit
The electronics industry breaks new ground thanks to innovators who think outside the box. The same can be said for Component Sense’s quality assurance processes.
We deeply appreciate our businesses’ forward-thinking Operations and Technology departments. With them, we created a state-of-the-art inspection process and a truly bespoke CRM system.
Launching our new website and e-commerce platform also required many work hours and technical expertise. Our Technology and Marketing departments made it possible for us to provide component buyers with a seamless buying experience.

Positivity
The electronic component shortages brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns created a purple patch for Component Sense. We were lucky to be able to help electronic manufacturers across the world keep production lines running at a time of such disruption that saw many direct chip sources dry up. But what goes up must come down.
In 2023, the electronics market flattened after years of high demand and low supply. Component Sense is grateful that our team has remained positive and continued to apply themselves as the market realigned.
In early 2024, our team tackled challenges head-on. Towards the end of last year, Component Sense unexpectedly received under two months’ notice to vacate our headquarters in Scotland. Thankfully, our Administration and Operations team efficiently relocated us to larger premises.

Working with integrity
The electronics grey market often gets a bad reputation due to fly-by-night suppliers and counterfeit components. Component Sense technically operates in the grey market, but we are unique in how our team conducts itself with integrity, not to mention our full traceability and 100% counterfeit-free guarantee.
Amidst the component shortages of COVID-19, many grey market sellers price-gauged desperate electronic manufacturers. Our business understands that mistreating end users is not beneficial in the long run, and we appreciate our Sales department's customer-first approach. Carrying out most of our business digitally during recent years also required a high level of trust.

Clarity and honesty
An open communication style is vital for operating a reactive and collaborative business. Clarity and honesty are key attributes needed when working together internally and with customers. Liaising with companies worldwide requires a clear and simple approach to ensure nothing is ever lost in translation.
Component Sense appreciates our Marketing, Excess and Obsolete, and Sales departments for their excellent customer engagement. In 2023, our Sales team responded to 99.77% of quote requests within 24 hours (nearly all within 20 minutes).
