USB Function Controller and Transceiver

The USB function controller in the CP2130-F01-GMR is a full-speed, 2.0-compliant device with an integrated transceiver and on-chip matching and pull resistors. This controller manages all data transfer between the USB and the SPI bus, along with command requests from the USB host and controls the function of the SPI and GPIO pins. 

 

Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI)

The SPI provides access to a flexible, full-duplex synchronous serial bus and can operate as a master device in both 3- or 4-wire modes. The SPI uses four signals:

  1. Master Out, Slave In (MOSI)

  2. Master In, Slave Out (MISO)

  3. Serial Clock (SCK)

  4. Chip Select

 

Serial Clock Phase and Polarity

There are four combinations of serial clock phase and polarity that can be selected using the SPI control commands over the USB interface. The clock phase (CPHA) specifies which clock edge is used to latch the data, and the clock polarity (CPOL) selects between an active-high or active-low clock.

 

GPIO Pins

The CP2130-F01-GMR supports 11 user-configurable GPIO pins that can be used as inputs, open-drain outputs, or push-pull outputs.
